In the 1920s eyebrows were thin lines, in the 1960s they were bushy, and in the 1980s a fine, soft sweeping line. In the 1990s they became denser and, of course, well formed into a perfect shape. |

You can determine the start and finish of the eyebrow contours by using two pencils. Place one pencil on the nostril and swing it slowly over to the outer corner of the eye. The other pencil is guided upwards from the nostril to the inner corner of the eye. |

Before shaping eyebrows, you should bear in mind the ideal shape. The classic eyebrow opens outwards and upwards, gradually widening for the first two-thirds of the eyebrow and then, at the highest point, tapers off downwards for the last third. |

Plucking eyebrows can be really painful. You can soften the pain by holding the skin firmly taut using your middle and forefingers. The hairs (those only under the eyebrow), are always plucked in the direction in which they grow. |
